Immigration Reform and Food Prices Are Linked

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack recently stated that the U.S. has three options when it comes to food prices and immigration.

1. Pay substantially more for food if more unauthorized workers are removed from the United States
2. Import substantially more food from outside of the country (and worry more about food safety and contamination) if nothing is done, or
3. Pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform that addresses the labor shortages currently in the agriculture industry.

Obviously, the third option is the best choice.   If only Congress will act.
